December Updates

31.12.2025

As the year comes to an end, it’s a good moment to look back at how Minniark has evolved since the August updates. The past months, and especially December, have been focused on stabilizing the core, refining existing features, and preparing the platform for further growth in 2026.

This post summarizes the most important changes and improvements introduced since late summer, with particular attention to the recent December releases.

New and Improved Features

AI Powered Media Descriptions

Since the initial rollout of AI based image descriptions in August, the feature has matured significantly.

Throughout the autumn and December releases, the generation logic has been refined to produce more precise and context aware descriptions. The editor workflow has also been improved so AI suggestions are presented more clearly before saving, making it easier to review and adjust content before it is written to disk.

Template and Structure Enhancements

Template handling has seen continuous refinement over the last few months.

By December, Packagist based template installation and updates have become fully stable, enabling smooth integration via Composer. Starter templates have been reorganized and cleaned up, with clearer naming and a more consistent internal structure. Navigation and page routing have also been improved, giving users more control without the need for manual configuration changes.

Overall, templates are now more modular and better prepared for upcoming features planned for 2026.

Image and Metadata Handling

Image management remains a central part of Minniark.

In the recent December versions, in app image editing actions such as rotation and flipping reliably preserve EXIF and extended metadata. GPS metadata handling has been further hardened, with better behavior for images that contain incomplete or missing location data.

These changes improve long term data integrity and make media handling more predictable across different workflows.

Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements

A major focus since August, and especially in December, has been stability.

Saving logic for Markdown and YAML files has been improved to reduce edge case errors. Editor interactions and button states now behave more consistently across browsers and devices. Sitemap generation has also been refined and updates reliably when pages or posts change.

In addition, several smaller UI issues and layout inconsistencies were resolved as part of the December maintenance releases.

December Releases and Versioning

Minniark continues to follow a continuous release model. Since version 2025.8.0, multiple updates have been shipped, culminating in several December releases that focused on polish, reliability, and internal cleanup.

The December versions place a strong emphasis on preparing the codebase for future features while ensuring existing installations remain stable and predictable. Updating to the latest December release is recommended to benefit from these improvements.

Looking Ahead to 2026

With the foundation strengthened over the past months, development is already looking ahead.

Planned work includes an admin based template management dashboard, extended AI tooling such as bulk description generation, and additional gallery layouts optimized for both desktop and mobile devices.

More details on these topics will follow in early 2026.

Thank you for using Minniark and for supporting the project throughout 2025. Your feedback and contributions continue to shape its direction.
